Summer Weight Loss Group Plan!! READ ME!!
Okay guys, I talked to a friend of mine and I decided how I'm going to try to get in better shape and lose some weight this summer. I welcome you all to join me! Please, if you feel confident enough post to let everyone know you're joining in on the fun. I would like everyone to keep an update so that we can cheer each other on and keep track of how everyone is doing. I'm hoping for this to be a lot of teens joining me, but I welcome anyone and everyone to come and play!

Here's what I'm going to do. Every Sunday I will post a new plan for the week. If you've ever heard of it it's a "couch to 5k" plan, and it will help get us out and exercising at a slow-ish pace so that we don't all die from being out of shape and trying to get into exercising all at once! Here's the link if you want to read on your own, but I will still post every week to let everyone know what to do if you're going to follow with me. I know we don't all want to have to keep up with a web site.


I personally will be starting on this coming Monday, and then doing my three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I'm super self concious about myself exercising, and I know I'm not alone. So please join me. I know it will be hard to do, but if you join, I would like everyone to be open about what is hard and stressing you out about the plan. What are you concerns, what do you find difficult, how could it be bettered. I'm not going to put a diet plan as part of this, because our diet depends on each person, but exercise is something for all of us.

Check in Sunday night and I will have the first plan up sometime in the afternoon.

This is supposed to be low-stress, and easy to work into. Hey, if it doesn't work, it doesn't work and we will have to find something else to do. This is a Walk/Jog program, so if running isn't really your thing, then this might not be for you. I hate running, I hate sweating, but I'm determined to not let it hold me back.

Age: 19
Weight: 230ish
Weight goal: 160ish

Reason for joining: I want to get into better shape and be healthy. I'm tired of hating my body, and I want to make a change.
Date joining the group: Monday, 5/23/2011

Biggest fear of this group plan: feeling like I might fail. I hope for support so this won't be an issue. :)

Hi, I'm Becca and we have a summer weightloss group on the diet page called Slim Down For Summer. I'm eighteen, so you wouldn't be the only younger one there. You're welcome to join!

Week one: Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes.

This should be done three times. The plan says to resist jumping ahead and follow along. It is supposed to make this easier for us to keep up with. :)

I was waiting to see the plan before commiting to join and as I figured, I am way ahead in terms of fitness. I brisk walk/jog/run for about 45 mins every day. NO MATTER WHAT! So this plan is not really for me but I wish good luck to whoever follows thru and joins!

Yeah, this is def for people just starting out. Honestly. I'm actually ahead of where it wants people to be, and it's driving me nuts. I don't think I am actually going to even follow through with the plan as it's set up. My mother is, but she chain smokes and can't keep up anyhow. she actually wants to repeat the first week this coming week. Which is fine and dandy for her, but I am not sure I can take another week of such slow and obnoxious jogging :P
