Hello

I would make appointments with a Gyno and an Endo. Let them run the proper tests and see what medications you need. I did WW also but it wasn't enough for me, but all of us are different. I found...

Are the owners ever online?

I'd volunteer to help moderate although that can be a pain for people trying to post. But this spam is out of control and obtrusive.

Lightbulb Trying something new

I'm at a loss. I was diagnosed (well actually, I went to the dr and said I think I have PCOS) on October 19, 2010. Between October and August I lost 45 pounds and then hit a plateau. Its been 5...

I get this too

I find it gets better with proper diet/exercise/medication. I wouldn't push the panic button immediately but I do think it warrants a dr visit. Have them run the standard tests to be sure, perhaps...

I ask myself the same question

I can't picture myself with children. When I was diagnosed and told PCOS is the #1 cause of infertility in women I felt a weight lift off my shoulders. It wasn't that I was being selfish by not...

My lethargy was caused by a Vitamin D deficiency which goes hand in hand with PCOS. Have the doc test you as you shouldn't self treat with Vitamin D because you can OD on it.

You have to categorize your carbs

First, all vegetables and fruit have carbohydrates. Everything else has a nutritional label on it that will tell you how much carbohydrate is in the item.

There are two different groups of carbs:...

I'm only on

Birth Control Pills, Vitamin D and Metformin. I went from years of unruly frizz to being able to blow it out straight in a few weeks, maybe a month. It was one of the first changes I noticed. I'm...

I don't think you'd be wasting time, from the sounds of things you may need that long to let your body adjust. I'm very surprised your Gyno ran a GTT. You're lucky, you must have found a good dr.

GYNO vs ENDO

Just fyi, my Gyno took a stab in the dark and put me on 500mg of Metformin. When I found an Endo who knew what she was doing she ran more tests and found I needed 2000mg a day. You have to work your...

Endocronologist

If your Dr. was hesitant on prescribing Met I'd make an appt with an Endo. Although my Gyno did have the brains to prescribe Met she didn't have me on nearly the correct dosage. It wasn't until my...

Also check Vitamin D

Vit D deficiency and PCOS go hand in hand and cause fatigue, depression like symptoms, etc. I'm much better than I was, but still not great. I sleep an average of 9 hours a night. I also think my...

If you have insurance

Look into a nutritionist. For the same cost of one of those books I was able to get a personalized approach of what to eat to look and feel better. The way I see it, very few of us have EXACTLY the...
