Hi, everyone,
We haven't made the decision yet to adopt, but I wanted to go ahead and research about the process of adoption. There are a lot of places out there preying on people who will do anything for a child, so I want to make sure we deal with legit organizations. Can anyone offer any advice or resources as to where to look for infant children needing adoption here in the US? I've looked through our state/county listing of adoptable children, but they specifically say they do not adopt out infants or toddlers because the number of healthy newborns/infants relinquished to the state has decreased dramatically. Which I guess is a good thing, but it seems a bit unbelievable to me that there's not one newborn or infant or toddler in the entire state that has been turned over to the state. Anyway, if any of you have other resources or other agencies for US adoptions of infants or toddlers, I'd gladly welcome it. Thanks. ![]() |

Hi ladies! Long time no post, BUT...
We adopted a little girl! she's perfect. We went through Catholic Charities and brought her home 3 days after her birth. Our wait time was 7 months after home study approval. She is now 12 weeks old. What's up with everyone here? |

Sage - Congratulations! I've never posted over here but we're in the process of adopting. We're just about approved - dh is super busy with his training right now and hasn't had time to finish a few things.
