I am so HAPPY to see Hawaii posts!
Can anyone recommend a Hawaii doctor who specializes in PCOS? See, I have not been officially diagnosed with PCOS, but I have do have several of the symptoms. I saw two ob/gyns in the past two years and they were of no help.
Thanks everyone!

Hi, I'm in Central Oahu also. Its nice (although unfortunate) to meet others in HI who are dealing with this too.

I was Dx with PCOS about 6-7 yrs ago. I was starting to successfully fight it about 5 yrs ago (Metformin and Exercise). But then i lost my health ins. and slowly got worse again. Now it seems worse than ever.

I've been to 2 Dr.s in central Oahu for this. The first one, OB-GYN, Rx'd Birth Control. Tried it. Actually, I tried several brands. Yeah... um... no. I gained so much weight on them. I know everyone is different. but after a year on them, they didn't help me AT ALL. My mood swings got so bad, my husband (thankfully) forbid me from taking anymore. Now I feel myself again. The second Dr., Family Doctor, put me on Metformin at my request. Because of the side effects I was having, my husband again asked me to stop taking it. I was a little saddened by this because I had had seeming success with it a few years ago. But it didn't seem to be having the same positive effects this time around, so I gave up on that. I then tried a Naturalist Dr. in Hawaii Kai. I was having to go 1-2 times a week. And with no Health Ins. I was paying out of pocket. After spending $400- $800 a month on visits, treatments, supplements, and tinctures.... and seeing NO results (besides an empty bank account), I gave up on that route. Now I'm at a loss.

Are you on any treatments that seem to be helping you? Is anyone TTC?

I'm also central Oahu. Was diagnosed with PCOS at 17, now 25, looking for a good specialty DR due to the fear of having fibromyalgia.
