Default About to board this roller coaster.

My journey with what I believe to be PCOS started a long, long time ago.

I was 11 years and 11 months when I first got my period. I had it about seven times within the first year, and never again (I am now 19).

Clearly, I have been avoiding this problem for a very long time. I am now finally preparing for my first GP visit since I was 12.

According to Dr. Google's list of common causes for a lack of period, PCOS is right up there.

Upon researching signs and symptoms, I tick almost every box (with the exception of severe acne [please god of PCOS, don't curse me with this aswell]).

So, tomorrow the journey will officially begin. I have no idea what to expect, or how to go about it. But, I am finally boarding this roller-coaster ride.

I'm scared out of my mind.

Hi Jayelle, and welcome to the boards

I was much like yourself, i put off seeing a dr about my symptoms for many years. i was finally diagnosed at 28 but i've had symptoms since i was about 14.
I was scared at first, but when i got a definate diagnosis it was such a relief at the same time because it finally meant i could get the treatment i needed.

Good luck with your appointment. i hope all goes well for you.

Hi,

Thanks for the welcome!

I had my doctor's appointment, and went through all of the necessary blood tests/ultrasounds.

Basically, all my blood tests came back in a normal range. The only thing that was abnormal was the size of my ovaries (indicating that I could have cysts).

At this moment in time, I've been referred to a well-known hospital (with a long waiting list) in my local area.

So, hopefully this appointment will shed some light on what is going on!
