jessica- I am one of those people scared of twins, so I transferred 1 embie the first time, got preggo, but it ended up being ectopic. Transferred 1 the 2nd time (frozen) didn't work. Transferred 2 (frozen) not as high quality and right now am pregnant- very early though. I was very worried about transferring 2 but decided to do it because the times I transferred 1 they were 1aa and 1ab embies, this time they were 2ab and 2ba. I would say with your age stick to no more than two, but that is just my suggestion!! Would your RE even do 3?

Hi Ladies.
I hope you don't mind me posting here, but I have a quick question for everyone who went through IVF.
When do you need to discuss with your RE about the possibility of starting IVF?
I'm in the 2WW for an IUI cycle, but I'm wondering if I need to schedule an appt. now to discuss the possibility of IVF if this cycle doesn't work.
Thankfully my insurance does cover IVF as long as I've had 2 unsuccessful IUI's. I just don't know how much advanced warning my RE needs for me to start.

Thanks for any advice!!!

Thanks for the well wishes girls! I just hope it sticks!

msmary- Call your office and tell them you would like an appointment to discuss IVF with your RE. You can always cancel. It is better to have one and cancel if things work out this time than to be waiting and waiting for your appointment!!

tryin - CONGRATS ON YOUR BFP!!!!!!!!!!! I already discussed putting 3 embies in and he said absolutely not so I'm fine with two now. I just wanted my best chance for getting a BFP and though one more embie would help.

msmary - Although I haven't done IVF yet, I just made my decision to do IVF. Right after my second failed injection cycle I made an appointment we my RE to discuss what's next. I'm so glad I did because to start an IVF cycle you need an off cycle just to do pre-IVF testing. Let us know how your appointment goes!

Thanks krisap00- I am very cautious about this- I had a little spotting yesterday and a little cramping so I am a bit worried right now!
