so excited! I've been pumping only 2x a day. and it is soo nice. if i make sure i drink a lot of water i'll get right at 16-18oz a day. If I don't drink as much as I should I get 6-10/day. It's no where near where I was... but it's also good enough that the only milk i've had to pull from my frozen stash is milk for at the sitters! and i'm a much less stressed out momma since i'm not having to remember to pack my pump and parts for work every day, not trying to figure out when i'm going to pump at work, feeling bad for not pumping as much as i wanted to while at work, etc, etc, etc... this twice a day stuff is highly manageable and beneficial.

i'll admit- when i was contemplating weaning i was a bit bummed about not having fresh milk for Jacob during these winter months, but looks like he will continue to afterall!

as long as i can keep getting more than 8oz a day or so.. i'll keep going until this summer. i do want to be done before dh and i go on a kid-free trip this fall...

PJs
That's AMAZING!!!! I wish I could get those amounts with only 2 pumpings. I'm already dreading the uphill battle that is my pumping supply. Seriously considering trying dom this time just to get by with less effort and be able to spend more of my time with Lela than my pump I was pumping before work, 4 times during work and then before bed and Lela was nursing 2-3 times a day on top of that. It was exhausting. I was lucky to get 20-24 oz a day. If I dropped my amount of pumping, I still only got about 3-4 oz per session. I could usually freeze about 1-2 (4 oz) bags a week if i had a decent week. And that was b/c she nursed through the weekend so I could store what I pumped on those days. My freezer stash from my maternity leave saved me.

How's everyone doing?? Figured I'd pop in and see! We're still nursing strong at 7 months! Miss Zoey gets easily distracted, though, when her sisters are around and she unlatches multiple times a feeding to smile at them. LOL And she only nurses for 10 minutes total per feeding, so she must be pretty efficient. Once we started bfing full time and then I returned to work, she started waking up once a night to nurse and is still doing that, which I'm fine with. It's our special time together. And NO TEETH yet!! Which is amazing, because Makenna got her first two teeth at 6.5 months and Kelsey was 4.5 months! LOL It's like she knows I'd rather she waited! LOL! She was 18 pounds 3 ounces as of 2 weeks ago!!

Just wanted to say hello to everyone, since I'm back here again!

Leeann, awesome job reaching 7 months! That's great work! Sounds like you and Z are doing very well.

All is going well for us so far. Frederik is a champion nurser, and I've found things a lot easier this time around. No complaints so far, but I'm sure they'll come. Actually I do have one complaint -- I hate the spontaneous let downs that happen in the first month or so. So annoying!

Hope everyone is doing well!

It has been a tough 2 weeks for me. Nicholas was tongue tied and not latching properly so I was having to pump and feed. He just got it fixed today and so far I have been able to feed him twice so far off the breast. If the procedure didn't work I was so prepared to wean him onto formula, who has an extra 4 hours in their day to pump and have to care for a newborn and a 2 year old, it't been nuts around here.

Glad it worked, ginger! I know how that is. I relactated so I pumped every 2 hours and bottle fed while taking care of a 2 month old, 5 year old and 2 year old. So much work but so worth it! I'm so glad things are going well!

omg @leanne, you are a champ. I don't know if I could have done that. I am really having a hard time with my 2 year old. She is just getting into everything and doesn't listen unless you raise your voice a bit and then she starts crying right away and puts herself in time out and has full fledged tears running down her face, it just breaks my heart.

I've been able to breastfeed the twins but they have been slow to gain weight. We had a weight check today and dd is back to her birth weight of 6lbs but ds is 6lbs 6oz (his birth weight was 6lbs 13oz). Last week they told me to start supplementing, ds takes alot more bottles than dd. And every since we started the bottles he seems to be a much lazier eater. I think the bottle is just easier. I also noticed at night he seems more frantic trying to nurse, he comes on and off the breast. I think the milk just isn't coming fast enough. My lc asked about doing the sns but I didn't want to do that. Then today I told them about ds having orange poopy diapers that smell horrible. The dr thinks he may have a milk allergy so we have to take samples tonight and take back to the pedi in the morning. I really want this to work but I'm feeling so overwhelmed. If he does have a milk allergy the formula he is going to need is really expensive and I'll also have to cut out all dairy if he is allergic. I just want him to start gaining weight!
