![]() melliott - CONGRATS!!!!
OHSS sucks. I only had a mild case. I know others here have had to have fluid drained. Drink Gatorade and Ensure (water is not good), eat salty foods, check your wt daily and take it easy. With your BFP, you might have OHSS for a while. |

![]() Melliott - Congratulations!! What wonderful news
![]() Just a note about OHSS - I had severe OHSS when I got my BFP (my first beta was 75 so very similar to yours) and I had 3 liters drained 3 times in the hospital. Drink lots of fluids, with electrolytes like gatorade. Eat lots of protein or protein shakes and it will help. It may take awhile for the OHSS symptoms to go away when they are associated with a rising beta but they will go away. Call your doctor if your urine output is decreasing or very dark or if you get dizzy. Hope you feel better soon! I remember the same thing, so excited for my BFP but so miserable with OHSS. |

![]() Oh, wow, Melliott, CONGRATULATIONS!! That is SO wonderful for your BFP!
OHSS...oh, yuck. It super stinks. I had it with my first IVF cycle. You feel SO much better after they pull off a liter or two of fluid, though. I would usually average one to two liters. Really all you can do is rest, push fluids such as Gatorade and eat salty foods. Your peritoneal fluid may build up again, sometimes within two days, so watch for any signs of that recurring. Can your RE be reached on the weekends, or what should you do if it happens again? Find out about that. I was able to go into his office any morning and have a paracentesis, so that was a real plus. Take care, and again, we are so happy for you!

![]() Jilly BN beat me to the punch...ditto on what she said!! Protein as well! Some have suggested Ensure, but I couldn't stomach it. I did some chocolate protein powder and mixed it instead.
Take care! Melissa

![]() melliott - congrats! I don't have any words of wisdom for OHSS, but hang in there. Thinking about you!
AFM, kind of an up and down day. My really, really close friend had her baby and I saw him today. Sooooo sooooo happy for her... so so sad for me. *sigh* It's so hard being happy for others over and over again when you're constantly wondering if it'll ever happen to you. He's a sweetie though. ![]()

![]() manda - ((hugs)) Hang in there and have faith your time will come. I've been there and it's very tough to be strong. I feel like your time is coming up. When is the ET? Next week?

![]() Jess... ET depends on Monday's US. Based on history, the US should go fine... it's just waiting on pins and needles to see if I start spotting before Thursday when the ET would be scheduled).
