EJ - feel better - hope the bug passes quickly!

Ginger - Yeah, idk re: the pill, either. I haven't started my cycle yet, so I don't have to decide yet...

knut - oh, the fun SNS...I hate to hear anyone has to go that route, though you have my complete respect...I have memories of the first couple of weeks home from the hospital using one of those, or something like it...it took both me and my husband to make the thing work right. Did you have similar challenges with your other children? Oh, and congrats for getting out of the plus sizes...I SO look forward to that day, as I've been shopping at Lane Bryant since high school.

AFM - the weight loss seems to be picking up again after almost a week back home...thank goodness. I actually saw a new number in the middle digit today, and am hoping that holds until my official weigh in on Sunday. It's very motivating to see things go in the right direction. Happy weekend, ladies!

Chart is updated! I'll start a new thread next week for April (already? really?) Would anyone object to me cleaning up the chart a bit? There are people on the chart who I haven't seen post on the boards in a long time. If you're somone who hasn't been active but would still like to be included, let me know. Or let me know if you want to be removed. I'll hide any information I remove so I can easily bring it back.

shan - Congrats on your loss last week! Hope you've been able to avoid Easter temptations so far. I already opened some candy...

Ginger - Welcome! Just don't overdo it while you're still recovering.

ali - Hope the Met hasn't bothered your tummy too much. I've heard that women sometimes get pregnant shortly after coming off BCP, so maybe that's something in your favor. Good luck with whatever you decide.

knut - Even if you didn't see results on the scale, sounds like you're doing everything right. It'll happen!

AFM - Thanks for the get-well wishes! I am definitely feeling better. I had a couple of really bad days last week. At least DS and DH didn't get it (I got it from MIL -- grr!). We are hosting Easter, and I have a lot to do to get ready. I'm going to try to be good this week, and next week really start to get back to business.

I am below 250 for the first time in about 10 years (ugh, so embarrassing, but moving on and celebrating the positive!) - I'm at 246.4, to be exact! March is going pretty well, I'd say.

EJ - glad you're feeling better! Yeah, the met is messing with me a little bit...I've noticed it seems worse with raw foods - salads, in particular. I think I've decided to take the BCP when my cycle starts...if it suppresses the formation of new cysts and reduces existing ones (I remember this from when I was TTC), my REs comment about getting a better egg when I come off it makes a little more sense... (even though this approach didn't prove necessary when I got pg with Matthew!)

Ginger - yay for a loss!

What's everyone's plan for Easter (those who celebrate)? I'm a bit nervous on the eating front...my MIL is nice enough to cook for pretty much every holiday, but her table is like a minefield full of carbs! I think I have a plan in place - I just need to calculate my projected carb count and decide if it's worth it!

Ali, great job on the weight loss girl, keep up the good work.

afm, still getting my workouts in. I really wish I could lose like a pound a day instead of a pound a week, lol. It would be so much more motivating but I have been watching movies with skinny people so it gives me motivation to work out, lol.

ali - Congratulations on your weight loss -- what a milestone you've reached!

Things that I have done to get through a holiday... If your MIL is someone who doesn't mind guests bringing food to pass, make something you can eat and bring it with you; eat a healthy meal before you leave your house; load up on proteins during the meal; decide what item(s) you want for your splurge and enjoy it -- it's a holiday after all. I am hosting Easter this year, and planning to just enjoy myself. I haven't been behaving much lately, so why start with Easter? I'll have things like a veggie tray for appetizers and I make a potato casserole with cauliflower to make it a little less carb heavy. But I'm also making green bean caserole and jello pretzel salad and looking forward to my MIL's lamb cake and my mom's Apple Betty.

Ginger - Congrats on the loss! One pound a week is very healthy and respectful. You're doing great!

Ginger - at your BMI and with pcos, I think a pound a week is great! Once I lose some more, I know it will slow down, so I'm trying to take advantage of this momentum while I can. Thanks for the kind words!

EJ - thanks for the tips...I think I'll take a veggie side dish and a lower carb dessert option to help play it safe. Here in the south, we sometimes see crazy things like rice or Mac and cheese listed as the "vegetable of the day" soi try to balance out the carb-laden options on holidays. Funny thing is, if I bring asparagus, it gets devoured. Lol. Hope you don't work yourself to exhaustion hosting everyone! Your potato/cauliflower casserole sounds like a great idea - what else goes in it?

ali - You're welcome! LOL at the rice and mac and cheese "veggie" options. I guess since rice is a grain...not sure how to explain the mac and cheese.

Here is the recipe for Potato Cauliflower and Cheddar Bake:

* 1 T unsalted butter, plus more for dish
* 1.5 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes (about 6 medium), peeled and sliced 1/2 inch thick
* salt and pepper
* 1 small head cauliflower (about 2 lbs), sliced 1/2 inch thick
* 1 T fresh thyme leaves
* 1.5 cups shredded sharp cheddar
* 1/3 cup chicken broth

Step 1: Preheat oven to 450F. Butter a 2-qt baking dish. In large pot, cover potatoes with cold salted water by 2 inches. Bring to a boil, then add cauliflower and cook at a rapid simmer until potatoes are just cooked through and cauliflower is crisp-tender, about 10 mins. Drain in a colander and let sit 5 mins.

Step 2; Place half the potatoes and cauliflower in dish, sprinkle with half the thyme and cheddar, and season with salt and pepper. Repeat to make a second layer. Add broth and dot top with butter. Bake until cheese is deep golden and bubbling, 15 to 20 minutes.

You can prep ahead. Place ingredients in dish; let cool. Cover and refrigerate up to 2 days. Let sit at room temp 2 hours, then bake.

Serves 8. 166 cal per serving. 8g fat (5g sat fat); 9g protein; 18g carb; 3g fiber.
