I have had 2 successful pregnancies. For me it just took metformin 2000 mgs to get pregnant and 6 months of being on it. To stay pregnant I had to take heparin shots. I tried for 4.5 years and 9 miscarriages before getting and staying pregnant with dd#1. It took 9 months of trying and 3 miscarriages with dd#2. Again, once I was pregnant I had to take heparin and I stayed on the metformin.

Leata, born June 1, 2005 at 37 weeks. She was 7 lbs 1 oz.

Leata at about a year

Leata now at 2.5

Taylor, born July 6, 2007 at 33 weeks. She was 4 lbs 10 oz

Taylor now 6 months

Both of my sweet miracles.

It melts my heart to see the sweet little ones. They are SO precious!

I confess that I visit and even sometimes post on the PG board. I think we all just need to see that dreams do come true.

Hayden when he was born.

Hayden at 16 weeks.

We tried naturally for 1 year, had about 8 months of testing to determine PCOS. Had a laporoscopy, hysteroscopy, D&C, & selective HSG done during this time in which they found endometriosis, which they removed. Was placed on Met for a month before adding Femara. 3 long cycles (I didn't O until CD 26) of Femara until I got my BFP. (Prior to TTC, we never really used a foolproof method of BC (withdrawal method), for the 10 years we were together prior. So I always thought that I would have problems TTC.)

Your little miracles will come for you one day soon!!

My dream come true:

My partner and I used donor sperm. It took four attempts over about a 6 month period. I was using Follistim and an HCG trigger. I also took Metformin and a very low dose of dexamethosone.

What I credit our relatively fast TTC experience to was my PCOS diagnosis prior to starting TTC, and a few years of managing it with the help of my wonderful RE before we were ready to start. So we did not go through any IUI attempts without meds (like many who use donor sperm do if they have no idea they have fertility issues). I'm also grateful that my RE was systemmatic but quick about moving us up to the right level of intervention very quickly. We tried Clomid first and through monitoring, very quickly realized that I was a non-responder and moved on to injectibles.

Without meds, I'd have maybe 3 periods a year, usually brought on with Provera. On met, it was up to about 6, without Provera. I really did not chart at all because I didn't have very much of a pattern to work with. We went by my bloodwork from the injectables and timed one IUI per cycle 36 hours after triggering with HCG.

Good luck to all of you!!!! It is possible!!!!

This is the first time I was able to hold Paytan after my c-section, she was probably 30-45 min old.

Paytan the day we did Christmas with DH's family

And one of her dressed up in her new camo overalls

I finally got my BFP after 5 years on TTC while taking Metformin 1500 mg/day and after several failed Clomid cycles.

I wish you all the best of luck!
