![]() I have been diagnosed with PCOS for about 4 years or so. I am not on any sort of treatment except for Provera, which I'm on right now in fact. I take it every other month to restart my 'monthly' cycle.
I have been in a lot of pain and after three more ultrasounds, they were able to tell me that I still have PCOS ![]() In the meantime, I called my doctor (my OB) and got a referral to an Endocrinologist here in the East Bay Area who per her website actually deals with PCOS!! ![]() So my question is this: while I'm waiting for the laparoscopy, should I call this Endocrinologist? What do I ask her, what should I expect? Thanks!! ![]()

![]() You should definately call the endocrinologist. Treating PCOS with just Provera is not appropriate. Not getting cycles isn't the problem, it's the symptom. An endo can deal with the metabolic issues. Good luck! I hope you don't have endometriosis.

![]() The drug that the doctor would put me on if I have Endo would put me in a state of menopause for about six months.
![]() I will get on making that phone call then!! Thank you!!

![]() Umm you should see your endocrinologist like yesterday. There is no cure for PCOS, but it can be managed. You need to go over treatment options and such with a specialist and your endocrinologist is going to be able to have a different insight on the PCOS that a regular gyno won't. If you do have Endometriosis, it's another thing to deal with, but I however have endometriosis, and it's my call when I want to have surgery...I'm just doing my thing right now...
My gyno who I love, and is really good friends with my endo, actually tells me to listen to whatever the endo tells me to do over him, because he knows this endo is much more experienced in PCOS than he is , so I'd def see what they have to say.
