Default Missed Period, is there a natural way to induce?

Hi folkes,
I'm new to the forum, and I've been searching around for some advice on natural (ie holistic) ways to control my PCOS. I was diagnosed when I was 16 and have been on the pill ever since. I eat healthy and hike frequently so I'm not too bad off. But now that I am 31 and starting to think about a family, I no longer want to be on the pill. I went off in June. Had a period in July and haven't had one since. I've taken 3 pregnancy tests, all negative.

Is there a natural way to induce a missed period?

Are there any holistic herbs, foods, or supplements that I might incorporate in my diet to help keep me regular?

I already have the PCOS diet book, but this seams to be a dieting book with suggestions on how to eat. I already do most of it.

Suggestions?

Thanks in advance.
Erin

Welcome Erin! I am not sure of any herbal remedies other than Cinnamon which many of the ladies here take. It seems to work similar to how metformin(r/x) works as far as insulin resistance (common with PCOS). You can find a ton of info on the fertility boards. There are many medical options but I don't think there are a ton of natural ones other than diet and excercise. I don't know a lot about natural ways but someone who knows more may respond to your post. I just wanted to welcome you. Good luck!

I did very well on a combination of Alpha-Lipoic Acid (300 mg sustained release or 600 mg regular), Gymnema, and Dandelion Root.

I'm not sure how holistic you're looking to go, but this website is a great resource for natural resources to help our cycles/fertility.

http://www.sisterzeus.com/delayedmen.htm

That particular page has to deal with missed periods and ways to bring it on naturally. There are other sections that are actually pretty informative and the information matches other things I've read both on and offline.

Good luck

You mentioned that you maintain a good diet, but for me to induce a period, I stop all forms of sugar and bad carbs. Usually get the period within a couple weeks. But it depends on how long I've gone without. Good luck to you! PCOSers are the women I've heard of who wish each other a happy period. lol
